On Daily Journaling Practices

There’s a few journaling practices I want to document on this page for reference.

  • The Tim Ferris
    • Morning
      • I am grateful for… (3 things)
      • What would make today great? (3 things)
      • Daily affirmations. (3)
    • Evening
      • 3 amazing things that happened today?
      • How could I have made today better? (3 things)
  • Write to the person in the journal, letting the emotions play through
    • Related to feeling your feelings
      • Which is related to Joe Hudson
      • Feeling your feelings, welcoming them, allows them to change, to develop to grow into something new but own’t happen by suppressing or avoiding your feelings or wanting to make them go away.
      • Also related to V.I.E.W
  • David Fragiomenni
    • Based on a home page with goals, affirmations, future visualization, and a question bank.
    • You check this page every morning and then use that reminder of your direction as a launching off point to be in a clearer headspace.

Daily journaling is powerful because of its mindset setting abilities. Starting the morning moving toward a direction that you want is powerful. Small actions compound is the core idea, in that we’re able take small actions toward our goals.

Format

The two options that I see are digital versus analog. Digital encompasses video, audio, and typing while analog is reserved for the written journal.

Video

This journaling option allows for a sense of connection with yourself that is hard to match. Speaking out loud either to yourself or to another is one of the most vulnerable forms of journaling in that hearing yourself say outbound the thoughts that have been wrestling themselves in your brain is profound.
